Florida Parks Recover, Reopen Following Hurricane Irma

After leaving a path of devastation from record wind speeds across the Lesser Antilles, Hurricane Irma slammed into Florida on Monday, September 11. Amusement and theme parks from St. Petersburg to Daytona Beach were closed through the preceding weekend, with damage and flooding keeping most closed for three days or longer. The parks of Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando resorts reopened Tuesday, September 12; SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay reopened Wednesday, September 13; Legoland Florida, Discovery Cove and the Disney water parks reopened on Friday, September 15.
