Intimidator will stand 232 feet tall and feature a 211-foot drop at a 74 degree angle. Guests will encounter a total of eight drops and high speed twists as they race through 5,316 feet of track. Two of the speed hills at 178 feet and 151 feet are taller than any current coaster at Carowinds.
Like its namesake in Virginia, Carowinds' Intimidator takes its name from the late stock car racer Dale Earnhardt.
This Intimidator is designed and manufactured by Bolliger and Mabillard of Monthey, Switzerland. Carowinds is home to a total of 12 roller coasters including two earlier B&M coasters: The 1999 inverted coaster Afterburn and the 1992 stand-up Vortex.
