Wooden Coaster For China
Amusement Today announced that China will be receiving its first wooden coaster. The coaster, which has yet to be named, will be engineered by the Gravity Group of Cincinnati, Ohio and built by Martin & Vleminckx of Montreal, Quebec. PTC, Inc. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania will provide two six-car trains seating four riders per car. The park, Overseas Chinese Town, is currently under construction in Sheshan, Songjiang, Shanghai. The coaster will stand 108.25 feet tall with a first drop of 103.5 feet. It will feature 3,819 feet of track along and out-and-back and twister layout with ten track crossovers. The park and coaster are expected to open for the 2009 season.
