The 124th season of Arnolds Park in Arnolds Park, Iowa, began Saturday, May 17, with weekend openings. The park opens to the public every day starting Memorial Day weekend.
In just one off-season, The Legend roller coaster has become both smooth and faster. Seven-hundred feet of track were completely rebuilt over this past winter.
The $1 million coaster project took two off-seasons to complete with a portion of the ride being rebuilt each winter over the past 2 years.
Great Coasters International Inc., Sunbury, Pennsylvania, handled construction – creating a noticeable difference in the smoothness of the track.
The Legend was originally built in 1927 and opened for its first ride in 1930.
