July 20, 2014, will be the final opportunity to ride Cyclone at Six Flags New England, in Agawam, Massachusetts.
There will be a season pass-holder ERT session from 9 to 10 p.m. on July 20. A special invitation to be the last ones to ride the attraction before its closing has been extended to American Coaster Enthusiasts, who will be invited to ride the Cyclone an extra 30 minutes from 10:00 to 10:30 pm. This event will not be open to the public or season pass-holders, but will be open only to ACE members who present their current membership card.
Cyclone opened on June 24, 1983, and has inspired generations of coaster lovers. With high impact thrills in a small footprint, Cyclone quickly established its fan base and has remained a popular and beloved coaster. At 31 years of age, the Bill Cobb designed wooden roller coaster is retiring to make way for something new. Announcement of that something new will be made by Six Flags on August 20, 2014.
