The Blue Streak roller coaster at Conneaut Lake Park will be in operation at the amusement park on Friday, June 3. The fabled 1938 roller coaster was able to be put in service around 4:30 p.m. on Monday during the park's opening Memorial Day weekend.
The roller coaster will be in operation when the park opens at noon for the weekend. The Blue Streak had more than 150 feet of track rebuilt during the last few weeks. Crews had to reinstall the steel rails for the first hill drop on Saturday and Sunday. The Blue Streak then had to have a safety inspection, which was 100 successful car runs with weights instead of passengers before it could operate.
